Ratanga Junction, Africa’s first full-scale theme park, has been delighting the crowds at Century City since December 1998. Ratanga operates on two levels, namely the ride park which is open daily for the South African school holidays but closed for the rest of the year, and the extensive function and event business that operates year round.

RIDES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

With an eclectic mix of African flavours and architectures, Ratanga Junction offers unparalleled entertainment for the whole family, transporting guests into a land of fantasy and adventure. Its more than 30 attractions range from adrenalin-pumping thrill rides to family and kiddie rides, interactive play areas and a host of live entertainment.

The most challenging of the rides is The Cobra, a suspended looping coaster, where riders are catapulted from a height of 34m along 910 metres of track at up to four times the force of gravity and speeds of up to 100km an hour. Adding to the thrill of the ride is the suspension of riders beneath the track, feet flying free.

FUNCTIONS & EVENTS

Situated in the heart of Ratanga Junction is Ratanga Island, which houses all the park’s function venues and eateries. Here corporate and private functions and events are tailored to meet clients’ requirements. These range from weddings through to 50th birthday parties, end-of-year corporate events and parties, conferencing, product launches, music concerts and corporate functions. Ratanga Junction is also one of the few venues in the Western Cape that can accommodate banqueting for more than 800 people.
