“It has been a little over a month since I stepped into the role of CEO. Since 2018 our team has been identifying perfect locations and has developed world class retirement villages, taking into consideration the surrounding landscape, and preserving natural heritage where possible. Pre-development planning has primarily focused on what matters most to a retiree, namely exceptional facilities, secure living, adaptable healthcare models and a strong focus on budling communities through our social programmes. That said, despite our superior offering, I have realised what will set us apart is ensuring that our villages remain flexible to the changing needs of its residents. Aside from exploring new opportunities and growing our footprint, my focus will remain on ensuring that our villages remain agile and desirable for our residents.”

CLARA ANNA FONTEIN

Vissershok Road, Clara Anna Fontein Lifestyle Estate, Durbanville

Oasis Life Clara Anna Fontein is the first of Rabie’s Oasis Life retirement developments and was launched in November 2018. It consists of 126 free-standing homes and a Lifestyle Centre.

Oasis Life Clara Anna Fontein is located within a greater multigenerational secure lifestyle estate, 128 hectares in size. The peace, security and great natural beauty set in the gently rolling hills above Durbanville, is enjoyed by over 190 residents.

With the last house for sale and construction drawing to a close, this estate is already home to over 190 residents, who are revelling in a superb retirement lifestyle.

“Many of our recent sales originated from referrals from residents,” says Mariska Auret, Director at Rabie responsible for the development. “It’s encouraging that our residents are enjoying their retirement at Clara Anna Fontein so much, that they would happily encourage their friends to share this lifestyle with them.”

With each estate unique for its area and market, Oasis Life’s golden thread of a hospitality-based lifestyle is what sets it apart.  Every development has a Lifestyle Centre, or in Clara Anna Fontein’s case a Clubhouse, in its first phase, which means that residents can enjoy a sense of community and the warm hospitality from day one.  This lifestyle offering also includes 24/7 primary healthcare with the consulting rooms located in the same building.

Additionally, the greater estate’s gym, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts are all available to Oasis Life’s residents.

“Yes, it’s about the facilities, the safety and the comfortable houses, but it’s also about the new relationships that are formed around a social, cup of coffee or a crafts morning.” says Neil Barry, Operations Manager.  “We are often told by our residents that they have never been happier or had as many friends.  Our staff are passionate about the welfare of our residents and there is no greater reward than to see our community thrive.”

BURGUNDY ESTATE

Pinot Blanc Road, Burgundy Estate

Oasis Life Burgundy Estate was launched in November 2019, making it the second development in the Oasis Life stable.

Just ten minutes from Century City, in the foothills of the Durbanville Hills, Burgundy Estate borders the vineyards of the historic De Grendel wine farm.

Burgundy Estate is a 180-hectare landscaped precinct with pocket parks, walking trails and stream-side green belt area. It consists of several secure complexes, three schools, a mashie golf course and convenience shopping centre. Oasis Life Burgundy Estate’s retirement village offers a combination of low-rise apartment blocks, freestanding homes, and semi-detached cottages.

Facilities include a Clubhouse that flows out onto a bowling green, an indoor heated pool, mini gym, laundry room and primary healthcare suite.

Oasis Life Burgundy Estate continues to grow with over 100 concluded sales to date with residents enjoying the lifestyle.

“We launched Burgundy Estate with houses and an apartment block and as we progressed, we were able to customise our offering as we received market feedback,” says Miguel Rodrigues, Director at Rabie responsible for the development. “As such, we created a cottage option for those who find a house a little too large but enjoy their own ground floor garden.  The new phase 4 cottage design is slightly larger, with small werf walls demarcating the gardens and granting more privacy. Our new apartment block consists only of one-bedroom, one-bathroom units, as the cottages have replaced the previous larger apartment offerings.”

CONSTANTIA

Old Kendal Road, Constantia

Oasis Life Constantia launched in March 2023, and have already sold 50% of the development that consists of 63 apartments and 46 free standing homes.  At the heart of the estate, you will find a modern Lifestyle Centre with deli, bar, multi-purpose room, lounge, a sunny veranda that spills outside, a 24-hour primary healthcare suite, a heated indoor swimming pool and fitness equipment.

The free-standing homes will all have double garages, two bedrooms and many have studies. Furthermore, residents will be able to enjoy exclusive use landscaped gardens, fireplaces, and built-in braai areas on the patios.

With easy access to the Lifestyle Centre, three low-rise blocks of apartments all have undercover basement parking and either one or two bedrooms.  All apartments have balconies, with some of the larger ones boasting a balcony from both the living room and the master suite.Ground floor apartments flow out into exclusive use gardens and all the blocks have full back-up electricity.

“We have had an incredible response to Oasis Life Constantia already!” says Auret.  “With 37 apartments and 27 houses sold to date, we are blown away by the serious interest, which is proof that this is a covetable address for a fantastic retirement lifestyle.”

“A resort-type lifestyle is yours for the taking, with a variety of activities, amenities, and facilities to choose from,” Auret continues.  “Our outstanding facilities are staffed by friendly, efficient, service minded people. In fact, all our hospitality staff are trained to hotel industry standards, and you can be assured that your retirement will be the best years of your life!”

Oasis Life Constantia is selling off-plan now and its anticipated completion is from October 2024.
