The Waterberry residential development at Century City was sold out a week before construction commenced on site.
Project manager Miguel Rodrigues said all 43 apartments had now been sold for a total of R71,945,000, with the last 8 units having been snapped up in a week.
Waterberry , which is due for completion and handover in the third quarter of 2014, is the first phase of the R270m Ashton Park residential development which is being built on a site adjacent to the new Curro Private School which opened in January..
Comprising one, two and three bedroom apartments, priced from R1 195 000 2 695 000, and ranging in size from 87m2 to 192 square metres, including balconies, Rodrigues said Waterberry apartments were larger than usual as they had anticipated a large number of owner occupiers including families due to the proximity to the school and sales to date had borne this out.
“More than half of sales so far have been to buyers looking to live there themselves.”
Rodrigues said the spurt of sales at Waterberry had followed the launch of phase two of Ashton Park, Silvertree which was now selling.
Comprising 31 one, two and three bedroomed units and one four bedroom double-storey penthouse, Silvertree apartments are generous and range from 87m2 to 287m2, including balconies. Apartments are selling for between R1 185 000 and R2 385 000, including VAT, while the penthouse is priced at R3 995 000. Basement parking provides for two bays for each two and three bedroom apartments and one bay for every one bedroom apartments.
These prices represent an average selling price, including balconies, of R15 555 per square metre.
