Rabie remains committed to Green Building principles & practice
Where ever possible Rabie is committed to developing green buildings and is proud to have developed six 5-Star Green Star rated buildings and seven 4-Star Green Star rated buildings at Century City.
The 5-Star rated buildings we have developed to date are Aurecon 1 & 2, Bridge Park East and West, and Sable Park North and South. The Business Centre and Number 3 Bridgeways (home to Philip Morris) were both awarded 4-Star Green Star Office v1 Design and As Built ratings, while Century City Square, which comprises five buildings, was awarded the first mixed-use rating by the Green Building Council of South Africa!
This development is registered with the GBCSA as a pilot project for a new mixed-use rating tool.
Rabie director, Colin Anderson, says their vision is to have the biggest concentration of green buildings in one precinct and this they were attempting to do in the Conference Centre precinct which is home to not only the buildings around the Square but also Chevron, Bridge Park East and West, No 3 Bridgeways and the Business Centre.
“We firmly believe that by building green buildings, coupled with the roll-out of Century City Connect – a high-speed fibre-optic network enabling the fastest connectivity speeds in Africa – we are ‘future-proofing’ our buildings as well as reducing our carbon footprint.”
