about us
Inspired living begins with
visionary development
When mapping out new neighbourhoods and precincts, Rabie draws inspiration from the principles of new urbanism, giving tremendous thought to how people live, work and play in connected spaces.
Rabie Property Developers has successfully delivered a diverse portfolio of iconic projects including award-winning residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use developments. From luxury apartments and modern office complexes to bustling shopping precincts and master-planned, multi-generational neighbourhoods, Rabie is driven to create vibrant and thriving communities.
We are the proud developers of ground-breaking developments, such as Century City, Burgundy Estate, Clara Anna Fontein, Hermanus Golf Course, Big Bay, Atlantic Beach, Royal Ascot and many others. Rabie is an independent, Western Cape-based property development company operating predominantly in and around Cape Town. Established in 1978, we are one of South Africa’s leading property developers, creating new urban landmarks and delivering ground-breaking public private partnerships.
In 2018, Rabie launched Oasis Life, an innovative retirement offering based on the Life Rights Model of retirement, protected by the Retired Persons Act of South Africa. Our growing basket of retirement villages include Clara Anna Fontein in Durbanville and Oasis Life in Burgundy Estate. Oasis Life Constantia is currently under construction and Oasis Life Sunningdale is launching in September 2024.
At Rabie Property Developers, we specialise in crafting spaces that epitomise inspired, modern, sophisticated, and smart living. Through innovative design, sustainable practices, and a focus on connectivity, we create urban environments that contribute to the vitality of surrounding areas and those who experience them.
Our mission at Rabie Property Developers is to design and develop spaces that inspire, innovate, and connect. By incorporating smart urban planning, modern amenities, sustainable features, and cutting-edge technologies, we aim to create neighbourhoods and secure mixed-use precincts that foster a sense of belonging and elevate everyday experiences.
We strive to shape the future of urban development and leave a lasting legacy of positive impact. We redefine the concept of smart living by creating dynamic, sustainable, and connected communities that are inspired by the principles of new urbanism. We envision secure, walkable worlds with exceptional amenities, where people are empowered to live their best lives.
Rabie’s culture is governed by its focus, mission, vision and values with a deep emphasis on transparency, clear communication, collaboration and teamwork at every turn – to drive innovation and contribute meaningfully within the industry.
We pride ourselves on
Synergy
We work as a team – both within and across departments – to ensure our approach to projects is fresh, inspired and well thought through, from the inception of an idea to its transformation into reality. We succeed together, with a deep respect for collaboration.
Integrity
Mutually beneficial partnerships are the true bricks and mortar of development. Thus we strive to treat both our clients and our suppliers with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
Vision
We cultivate the ability to see what is not yet there; to identify and gauge the latent potential in a piece of real estate and to visualise how best to maximise its value.
Innovation
Adapting to constantly changing market conditions, we stay ahead of the game by forging new business models and ever-evolving products that inspire smart living and working ideals.
Sustainability
We understand that in order to create successful and sustainable developments, we need to engender a culture of both social and environmental responsibility, investing significantly in educational upliftment programmes and green building initiatives.
Passion
We love what we do – we set the bar higher with every achievement. It’s our passion for connecting people and places that drive us in our pursuit to deliver excellence.

Team Rabie
Rabie Property Developers
Smart services begins
with a smart network
Property Development
Rabie Property Developers delivers opportunities across all sectors of the property sales industry – residential, commercial, retail, industrial and leisure. While most of our work lies in developing our own projects, we have also undertaken a number of developments in joint ventures with banks, empowerment companies, other property developers and construction companies. Joint venture partners have included Nedbank, Investec and Absa from the banking sector, and Asrin, Harries Projects, Aquacor, Cavcor and Abland as development partners. In addition, we have partnered with the government in a number of ground-breaking public private partnerships.
Development Facilitation
We have pioneered public private sector partnerships at both a municipal and provincial level. In these initiatives, regulated by development facilitation agreements, the relevant authorities have contributed the raw land, while we have provided the business, entrepreneurial and technical skills required to deliver turnkey development solutions in order to maximise the land’s potential. The respective authorities have been able to use a percentage of the enhanced value of the land for the wider benefit of the community, funding much-needed capital and infrastructure projects. Prime examples of these partnerships include the award-winning Cape Town developments in Westlake, Tokai; Big Bay, Bloubergstrand, and Fernkloof Estate in Hermanus.
Project Management
We employ our technical expertise to develop projects for third party landowners or developers on a turnkey basis for an agreed fee.
Property Administration
RPA Property Administrators, an associated company of Rabie, administers a number of office blocks and retail centres. This niched, hands-on business provides a personalised service for not only the Rabie, but also listed property funds and individual investors.
Commercial Broking
Our in-house commercial broking division provides a service for the group, and also undertakes sales and letting for third parties.
