Rabie’s Bow Tie development in Burgundy Estate has sold out prior to the construction completion of its first phase, scheduled for December this year.
Growing from strength to strength, Burgundy Estate hits the perfect spot between convenience and work-life balance. Ideally located on the border of the Durbanville wine route, a few kilometres from pristine beaches and a short drive to Cape Town CBD, Burgundy Estate is a little corner of quiet suburbia.
“Bow Tie had a very successful launch in October 2020.” says Miguel Rodrigues, Director at Rabie. “Not only have we broken a few conventional rules with Bow Tie, but it also made history in Rabie. It’s the first of our Smart Enabled Developments, the first time that we have launched a new development only through digital channels and we sold 60% of phase one in just three days. The incredible response has exceeded our expectations. We are delighted that Bow Tie has sold out prior to the completion of its first phase, just as we are about to launch a new development in Burgundy Estate. At a capital value of sales at R135m, we’re confident that the sectional title residential market remains buoyant in this node.”
Rodrigues explains that designing Bow Tie for the first-time homeowner was the key to its success. “The name, the look and feel of our marketing campaigns and the digital approach reaped benefits as the average age of the owners at Bow Tie are in their late twenties and early thirties.”
Following on from Bow Tie, Rabie will be launching a similar development called Quinta, in October this year. “We have taken all the lessons learned at Bow Tie to our next secure complex, which will have similar features to Bow Tie, but will stand on its own in terms of site lay-out, unique features and identity. This new development will include ample green space, tucked-away green pockets, and a swimming pool with outdoor braai area.”
There are currently 3 500 front doors in Burgundy Estate, ranging from stand-alone houses to houses and apartments in secure complexes and a new secure retirement estate that opened its doors in July 2021.
Since getting involved as a joint venture partner with Nedbank six years ago, Rabie has sold over 1060 homes, totalling more than R1,4-billion at Burgundy Estate.
Rodrigues explains that Burgundy Estate is increasing in its popularity as a precinct that offers convenience and balance. “As more people work from home on a permanent basis, we have seen that they need more room, preferably on the ground floor with own gardens, garages and ample green common areas. With three schools, restaurants, a sport club, a secure retirement estate and two convenience shopping centres, Burgundy Estate has become the complete package.”
