Palm Brook, the fifth block of apartments in the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort at Century City, will be launched this week.
Being developed in a joint venture by the Rabie Property Group and a Harries Projects consortium at a cost of R230 million, the 11 storey Palm Brook will comprise 52 one, two and three bedroom luxury apartments.
It follows the sell out of all 50 apartments in the fourth block, Palme d’Or, five months ahead of completion.
Apartments, which range in size from 78 square metres to 161 square metres, are priced from just under R3million to just over R6million, VAT inclusive. No transfer duty is payable.
There are four penthouses and three garden apartments, the latter of which have exclusive use areas fronting on to a brook and the magnificently landscaped communal gardens. All but three of the apartments have terraces or balconies ranging in size from 12 square metres to 125 square metres.
All apartments will have basement parking and luxury finishes. Some will have a storeroom included in the price with additional storerooms available to purchasers as optional extras.
As with the two most recent blocks – Palme d’Or and Palm Royale – Palm Brook will be linked to the extensive Oasis Club facilities by an undercover passage. A satellite recreational area is also planned to add to the communal facilities for Oasis residents and their guests.
As with its predecessors, Palm Brook will be served by two lifts and have a 24 hour dedicated concierge at the entrance lobby.
Construction is due to start in July this year with transfer anticipated in late 2017.
Colin Green, a director of Rabie, said that to have sold out five months ahead of completion as had happened with the most recent block, Palme d’Or, was practically unheard of for a retirement product.
“Very strong pre-launch interest has been shown so we expect sales in Palm Brook to be brisk particularly now that we are nearing the end of the development phase. With only Palm Brook and one further block to go, would-be purchasers realise there are only a finite number of opportunities left and they need to commit now if they are not going to miss the boat.”
The first two blocks in the resort – Palm Springs and Palm Grove – comprised a total of 174 apartments. Also completed early in the development was a magnificent Club House boasting among other things a 25m indoor heated pool where regular water aerobics classes are conducted by a qualified teacher, a massage room, sauna, steam room, gym, a library, lounge areas, a restaurant, bar, bridge room, billiard room and a new multi-purpose recreational/entertainment venue with a coffee bar and a covered patio overlooking a picturesque pond and beautifully landscaped gardens. The gardens were extended along with the second two blocks – Palm Royale and Palme d’Or – which added a further 108 apartments – and will be further extended with the last two blocks.
Also completed in phase one is the 110 bed Oasis Care Centre which offers hotel-style assisted living apartments, frail care and a specialised Alzheimer’s/Dementia unit as well as physical rehabilitation.
Green said besides all the exceptional facilities provided at Oasis, its location in Century City which is also home to other world class amenities including Intaka Island wetlands reserve, Canal Walk Shopping Centre and the MyCiTi bus service all added to its appeal as did the well managed precinct’s high quality of safety and security and modern infrastructure.
The public launch of Palm Brook will take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 8 – 10 at the sales office from 10am to 4pm. However, to get invited to an exclusive pre-launch on Thursday 7 April phone Cindy on 082 4957168 or Lorenda on 0832704755 or Linda on 0827856160.
