Children are becoming experts, what would embarrass you if a child beat you at it?
I am a big fan of FIFA on PlayStation/Xbox. The rivalry in this game can become very intense when I play with other guys my age and daggers get thrown when it gets to the bragging rights that come with winning. Losing to a child in this game would be detrimental to one’s street cred & manliness.
What advice do you have for the youth who would like to be in your industry?
Always be willing to go the extra mile. The construction industry is very fast paced and is not for the faint hearted. You need to have confidence in your abilities as well as a good character. Always remember that teamwork makes the dream work so always be willing to learn from others

What are you most passionate about and how can you implement in the workplace?
I leant about the strength of passion during my training and working as a fine dining chef, I believe that passion in one’s job, rather than the monotonous feelings of day in and day out slogging to get the job done are what can help people to find enjoyment in their work. I believe passion and it’s ensuing curiosity are what keep the working environment a dynamic and vibrant place.
What advice do you have for the youth who would like to be in your industry?
I would advise them to spend a week on site to see how things work. It’s dirty work (unless your office based) but it is fulfilling because of the experiences that you go through on site. It’s also amazing to be part of something larger than yourself, regardless of the hard-work which needs to go in, of which there will be plenty. And lastly, it’s the built environment so you’ll never have the same day twice.
