Rabie staff, including directors, spent their lunch hour on Madiba’s birthday making 800 odd sandwiches for the learners of Sinenjongo High School in Joe Slovo Park, Marconi Beam, which the company adopted as the major beneficiary of its Corporate Social Investment programme five years back.

For many of the learners it was the only meal they would have had yesterday.

The principal, Mrs Nopote, said the gesture by Rabie staff inspired a group of Grade 11 learners to spend an hour after school cleaning up the school grounds.
