“The northern suburbs of Cape Town presents compelling property development potential in 2023. With its scenic landscapes, improved infrastructure, growing commercial sector, diverse housing options, and quality amenities, this region offers an enticing combination for investors and homebuyers alike. As Cape Town continues to grow and prosper, the northern suburbs stand out as a promising area for those looking to invest in property and enjoy a high standard of living.”
– Miguel Rodrigues, Director
We are incredibly proud of what has become the premier secure lifestyle estate in the Northern suburbs. A true multi-generational estate, Clara Anna Fontein sets the tone for successful integration of lock-up-and go, large free-standing homes, a retirement estate, school and now, a retail offering. With our toes dipped into the Northern suburbs, we have great partnerships with whom we have started the Wheatfields Estate and Stonepine Crescent journeys. Trinity Projects is our partner on both developments, with Kloof Capital joining us on Stonepine Crescent in Kuils River.
In terms of infrastructure, the northern suburbs have witnessed significant improvements in recent years. The local government has made considerable investments in transportation networks, including road upgrades and the expansion of public transport options. These improvements have enhanced accessibility to the area, making it easier for residents to commute to the city centre and other parts of Cape Town.
Moreover, the node has experienced a surge in commercial development, including shopping centres, office complexes, and entertainment facilities. This growth has created a thriving business hub, attracting companies from various industries, and contributing to job creation. The availability of employment opportunities and a vibrant local economy have further fuelled the demand for housing in the area.
New shopping centre for Clara Anna Fontein Lifestyle Estate
Clara Anna Fontein Lifestyle Estate will soon have a convenience shopping centre on its doorstep! Developed by Dorpstraat Properties, the Clara Anna Fontein Shopping Centre will be located just outside the main gates of the lifestyle estate, accessible from Vissershok Road, Durbanville.
The 2 500 square metre open mall will be anchored by a 950 square metre Checkers. In addition, patrons will be able to shop at Checkers Liquors and the group’s pet store, Petshop Science. Essential Health Pharmacy, the centre’s co-anchor, will be the one-stop shop for all your healthcare needs and Bootlegger Coffee Company might just become your new go-to for a coffee, breakfast, or lunch.
“Our vision for Clara Anna Fontein Lifestyle Estate was creating a holistic experience where multi-generational families have access to wide open spaces, a Lifestyle Centre, gym, tennis courts, swimming pool, retirement estate and Reddam school, all within the safety and security of an estate,” says Mariska Auret, Director at Rabie. “Adding a convenience shopping destination completes the ideal lifestyle for residents who will now be able to simply walk or cycle to pick up a few essentials.”
Comfortable in-and-out open parking bays ensure that everyday shopping is as effortless and accessible as possible.
“The Clara Anna Fontein Shopping Centre will provide the local community with easy access to essential goods and services by offering retail variety to choose from. Additionally, it will add another gathering place, which will contribute to a sense of community among residents in the area and the estate alike.”
Patrons can look forward to shopping here as soon as October 2023.
Wheatfields Estate
On the picturesque Groot Phesantekraal Estate in Durbanville, with the Boland mountains beyond, lies Wheatfields Estate. A collection of distinctively designed homes, set in a 5,4ha secure gated estate, perfect for those who seek more from life than mere mediocracy.
Curro Durbanville, a school managed by JSE-listed independent education provider, Curro Holdings, has expanded its original grounds, resulting in a brand new, contemporary campus for the high school that is 9 800 sqm² in size. The new campus showcases the very latest in education space design, which has been crafted with a learner-centric approach where their needs and aspirations have been considered throughout the design process.
The new campus is situated a few hundred metres from Wheatfields Estate and opened in January 2022, with the capacity to house 1 000 learners with room for further expansion.
Wheatfields Estate, together with Curro and Stadio, will be the catalysts of a new and exciting mini suburb in Durbanville. With wide open spaces, secure living adjacent to a green belt and access to world-class education and facilities, this hub is not only well-suited for families, but for anyone who enjoys the space and sense of community that Durbanville offers.
Our approach is a phased construction programme, with 50 houses completed and occupied and 25 houses under construction. Total sales to date are around R300m.
Double storey houses range from 150m2 to 191m2, and single storey houses range from 178m2 to 217m2.
Construction is estimated for completion mid-2025.
