Sinenjongo to benefit from the K-Way Platteklip Charity Challenge for 2012

K-Way PLatteklip Charity Challenge, Sinenjongo to benefit from the K-Way Platteklip Charity Challenge for 2012, Rabie.co.za

The K-Way Platteklip Charity Challenge for 2012 is taking place this week Saturday (21 April) and we are delighted that Sinenjongo High School in Joe Slovo Park, Marconi Beam, which Rabie adopted as the major beneficiary of its Corporate Social Investment programme almost six years back, has been chosen as the recipient of the funds raised at this event.

For this challenge approximately 100 courageous Capetonians, which include a team from Rabie and on individual level, Rabie Project Manager, Steve Cloete, will attempt to see how many times they can summit Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge for charity.  Each lap is 5.5 km in distance with 760 metres of climbing and will take approximately 2 hours to complete.  The route up Platteklip Gorge includes 800 double size steps over a distance of 2.1 km.  Once at the top, the contestants need to run to the upper cable station, catch a lift down and then run back to the start to climb up again.

If you would like to sponsor the Rabie Team or Steve Cloete or any of the other contestants, please click on the names or here for the full contestants’ list.  All donations are very valuable to the upliftment of education at Sinenjongo High School, which serves an extremely impoverished community, and will be greatly appreciated.  Donations are also tax deductable and audited.

If you are a corporate that would like to get involved or would be able to provide some kind of sponsorship in respect of items required for a sporting event, please contact Anton de Waal on info@charitychallenge.co.za.
