Sinenjongo High School : You can help make a difference!

The Rabie Property Group and Ratanga Junction have committed literally millions of rands to a turnaround strategy at Sinenjongo High School in Joe Slovo Park, Marconi Beam. Two years ago the school had a matric pass rate of just 27%. Last year this was lifted to 98% but there are still many challenges to be m et which will require significantly more funds than Rabie and Ratanga alone can afford.

For this reason we are asking you to consider getting a My School Card which you can swipe any time you make a purchase at a Woolworths Store to help us raise funds. The card will not cost you anything and in fact you will benefit in that only holders of either a Woolworths card or a My School Card qualify for certain in-store special offers.

In terms of how it works, 0,4% of whatever you buy at Woolworths when you swipe your card will be paid to your named beneficiary.

Some of you may already be committed to your children’s schools and this we understand. However, you may have many friends or relatives that do not yet have a My School Card and we would urge you to ask them to join this very well worth cause and support our school.

We ask that on new applications for a My School Card, applicants list The Marconi Beam Schools Trust as their chosen beneficiary. This is the independent Trust that we have set up which has Public Benefit Organisation status and all funds deposited into this fund are used for the benefit of the school.

The beneficiary details you therefore have to list are:
The Marconi Beam Schools Trust
Bank: Absa
Cheque Account Number:  40-7597-2591

There are different ways of applying for a My School Card.

1.    You can do so in any Woolworths Store. This is preferable as you will be issued your card immediately and can start swiping!
2.    You can apply on line at www.myschool.co.za or
3.    You can phone 0860 100 445 and they will assist you telephonically.

If you go the route of point 2 or 3 above it will take up to 14 days for you to get a card.

While we understand that many of us may not be able to afford to do our monthly grocery shopping at Woolworths but even if you do the occasional small shop there every cent will assist the school and will be greatly appreciated.

We ask that you each try and enlist at least five others to join us in our quest. Your assistance in this regard will be very much appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation
Warm regards
